Beer Pong

Me playing beer pong

What You Need:

For this game you will need at least 14 solo cups, at least 2 ping-pong balls, beer, and 1 long, rectangular table.

Number of Players:

2-4. You can play this game with teams of two, or you can play one-on-one.

The Point:

To be the first team to make the ping-pong ball into all the opposing teams cups.

How to Play:

Each team stands at one short end of the table with 7 cups. One cup should be filled with water, and the other six should be filled up to the first line with beer (it doesn't have to be beer, but I wouldn't recommend playing with other kinds of alcohol). Each team should then place the 6 cups of beer in a triangle with the point closest to the other team. (The water cup is just to rinse the ball off if it gets dirty)

To begin: 1 player from each team picks up a ping-pong ball and at the same time, they throw the ball and try to make it into one of the cups on the other teams side of the table. If either team makes a cup, they will start with the balls. If no one makes a cup, the other players try, and this continues until one player makes a cup.

Whoever makes the cup first will start with the balls. Each player on the team will have one chance to throw a ping-pong ball from their end of the table, and try to make it into a cup on the other end. If a cup is made, then a player on the opposite team must drink the contents of the cup before they may take their turn. If both cups are made, then both cups must be drunk by the that team, and the throwing team gets to go again. If no cups are made, then it's the other teams chance to try.

Special Rules:

  • When throwing the ball, your elbow must stay behind the edge of the table
  • If you're drinking a cup of beer during the game that isn't a cup from the game, and the opponent makes the ball into that cup, then your team automatically loses
  • Re-racks: Each team is allowed 1 re-rack throughout the game. A re-rack means that the team may ask to have the cups they're shooting into rearranged into a new formation (to make it easier to shoot).
  • Once a ball goes into a cup, someone may remove that cup before the other person shoots. However, if that person shoots before the cup is removed and they make it into the same cup, then the shooting team automatically wins.
  • Instead of throwing the ball, a player may choose to bounce the ball off the table once and into a cup. If that player makes it into a cup from bouncing, the two cups must be removed and drunk by the defending team. However, if the defending team notices that they are bounding the ball, they can defend their cups and swat the ball away (after the bounce).
